All portraits work properly in Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn, BG2 Expansion, Icewind Dale and IWD Expansion.
I do not know if the Character Portraits work on the Macintosh Platform, for I have not bought Baldur's Gate for my Mac, yet.
*Note*
Please see the Read-Me that came with Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 concerning the format and NAMING of sounds to use as character sound sets in either game. The layout is slightly different in BG2, but if the names are changed appropriatly all BG1 sound sets will work in BG2
